Instruction: Answer questions 1 and 2 and any other three questions, at least one from each section
Section A
- Draw and label fully specimens A, B, C and D. Comment on four features of zoological importance
- Identify and classify with sound taxonomic reasons specimens E, F, G and H
Section B
- In tabular format, following the phylogenetical approach, list ten animal species indicating their bodywork, symmetry and phyla.
- Using relevant illustrative diagrams, critically the theory of metazoans with emphasis on the key point and limitations of its theory.
Section C
- (a) discuss nine (9) General characteristics of phylum Mollusca
(b) With the aid of a well-label diagram discuss ten characteristics of the class Gastropoda.
(c) Write brifely on five(5) economic importance of the phylum molluska.
- (a) Give a brief account of eight (8) general characteristics of the phylum arthropods.
(b) Write a short essay on the evolution of arthropods
Section D
- Lis the current major theories accounting for the origin of life on the planet earth
(b) Briefly comment on the main features of each theory enumerated
- Discuss the unique property water that has to enable it to perform its function in nature
Section E
- Briefly explain the steps in the evolution of amphibians as a group. Enumerate the characteristics of the amphibian class.
- Give an account of various habitats and the animals they harbour.
Section F
- Using approximate diagrams discuss the phylogeny and adaptive diversities in the group protozoa
- Write a comprehensive essay on the evolutionary survey of Echinodermata.

- Using tabular format list ten animal representatives from different phyla and their symmetry.
- What is a habitat? Discuss the adaptive patterns of diversity of animals as regards habitat
- (a) Discuss the General characteristics of the phylum mollusc.
(b) Give an account of the economic importance of molluscs.
