1. (a) Identify, draw and label fully specimens A, B, C and
(b) In a tabular form, present the simplest and cheapest methods of collecting benthic invertebrates in shallow flowing water with examples.
2. List and explain at least five applicants of Biotechnology in environmental pollution and clean-up.
3. (a) What are enzymes?
(b) Write succinctly on the kinds of enzymes and their applications in any two of the following:(i) Waste management and sewage treatment (ii) Biodeterioration (iii) Bioremediation
4. Describe how changes in the biochemical and physiological parameters of animals can be used to monitor the presence of xenobiotics in the ecosystem.
5. Describe some changes that may occur in the structure of some organs of the body due to the presence of xenobiotics in the environment.
6. What is biological monitoring? Write an essay on the various methods of monitoring the environmental parameters in the habitats of animals.
7. Write a succinct essay on invertebrates as biological monitors and their roles in predicting changes.
