WHAT IS PETROLEUM JELLY (VASELINE)?

Petroleum jelly, also known as Vaseline, is a semi-solid mixture of hydrocarbons that is commonly used as a moisturizer, protectant, and lubricant. It is a colourless, odourless substance that has a thick, gel-like consistency, and it is made from a mixture of natural waxes and mineral oils.

Petroleum jelly is a highly effective moisturizer because it creates a barrier on the skin that helps to prevent moisture loss, and it can be used to soothe dry, chapped, or irritated skin. It is often used to treat minor skin injuries, such as cuts, burns, and scrapes, as well as to protect the skin from harsh weather conditions, such as wind and cold.
