Green tea is a key ingredient in this moisturizer, and it is rich in antioxidants that help to protect the skin from damage caused by free radicals, which are unstable molecules that can cause oxidative stress and premature ageing. Green tea extract also contains anti-inflammatory compounds that can help to soothe irritated or sensitive skin, making it an ideal ingredient for people with acne-prone or redness-prone skin.
Other ingredients that may be found in green tea face moisturizer include hyaluronic acid, which is a powerful humectant that can help to attract and retain moisture in the skin, as well as vitamin E, which is a potent antioxidant that can help to improve the overall health and appearance of the skin.
Ingredients
- 4 tsp pure aloe vera gel
- 2 tsp green tea
- 3 tsp argan oil
- 4 drops of tea tree essential oil
- 4 drops of lavender essential oil
- 4 drops of geranium essential oil
- Bowl and spoon for mixing
Directions
- First, begin by brewing your green tea. You can use loose tea leaves or one green tea bag. To make your green tea, simply steep 1 green tea bag in 1 cup of water for minutes. Let it cool down completely then add 2tsp into your small mixing bowl. Warm and sip up the rest of the green tea after you’ve completed making your face moisturizer!
- Next, add 4 tsp of aloe vera gel. It’s best to use 100% pure aloe vera gel. If you can extract the fresh gel, then you may although this might make it go bad quickly so be sure to buy pure aloe from organic sellers
- Now add 3 tsp of argan oil and 4 drops each of tea tree, lavender and geranium essential oils.
- Mix everything up together with a spoon.
Store it in a cool dry place. Note that it won’t have the best consistency – it’s going to be a bit watery and thin and you’ll have to shake the container before scooping into it because it’s bound to separate.
Green tea face moisturizer can be used on all skin types, but it may be especially beneficial for people with oily, combination, or acne-prone skin. It can be applied to the face and neck after cleansing and toning, and it should be massaged into the skin using gentle upward motions until it is fully absorbed. To use, pour a dime-sized amount of it onto your palm then apply it onto a damp freshly washed face.
Green tea face moisturizer can be purchased at most drugstores and online retailers. When choosing a product, look for moisturizers that contain high-quality, natural ingredients, and avoid products that contain synthetic fragrances, colours, or preservatives. It is also important to patch-test the moisturizer on a small area of skin before using it all over, to ensure that you do not have an allergic reaction.
